By accessing or using the DoorUp website (the "Site"), requesting a quote, scheduling a service, or otherwise engaging with DoorUp Garage Door Repair ("DoorUp," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Site or services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and DoorUp. By using our services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.

Important: These terms contain important information about your rights and obligations, including limitations of liability and dispute resolution provisions.

2. Our Services

DoorUp provides professional garage door repair, maintenance, and installation services throughout San Diego County, California. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Garage door spring repair and replacement
  • Garage door opener repair and installation
  • Cable repair and replacement
  • Roller replacement
  • Panel repair and replacement
  • Garage door maintenance and tune-ups
  • New garage door installations
  • 24/7 emergency garage door repair

All services are performed by licensed, insured, and trained technicians. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at our sole discretion.

3. Estimates & Pricing

We provide free, no-obligation estimates over the phone, online, or on-site. Please note:

  • Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date provided unless otherwise stated
  • Final pricing may vary if additional issues are discovered during the repair that were not apparent during the initial estimate
  • We will always obtain your approval before performing any additional work that would increase the quoted price
  • All prices are in US dollars and do not include applicable taxes unless stated
  • Emergency service calls may include an additional dispatch fee, which will be disclosed before service

4. Payments & Cancellations

Payment Terms: Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept cash, credit cards, and other payment methods as indicated at the time of service. For large installations, a deposit may be required before work begins.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule a service appointment, please notify us at least 2 hours before your scheduled time. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Returned Payments: A fee of $35 will be charged for any returned checks or declined credit card payments.

5. Warranty & Limitations

DoorUp stands behind our workmanship. Our standard warranty includes:

  • Labor Warranty: 1-year warranty on workmanship for repairs performed by DoorUp technicians
  • Parts Warranty: Manufacturer's warranty on parts (varies by component, typically 1-10 years)
  • Spring Warranty: 1-year warranty on spring replacement (upgrade to high-cycle springs available for extended warranty)
  • New Door Installation: Manufacturer's warranty on door sections plus 1-year labor warranty

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, or improper maintenance
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by third parties or acts of nature (including but not limited to weather, earthquakes, floods, or fire)
  • Repairs performed by anyone other than DoorUp without prior written authorization

To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period with your original invoice number and a description of the issue. We will inspect the work and, if covered, repair or replace the affected components at no charge.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoorUp and its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Property damage other than the garage door system being repaired
  • Personal injury arising from use of the garage door after repair (if used contrary to safety instructions)
  • Delays or inability to use the garage door due to parts availability or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid to DoorUp for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.

Safety Warning: Garage doors are under extreme tension. Never attempt to repair springs, cables, or other high-tension components yourself. Always wait for a trained professional. DoorUp is not responsible for injuries resulting from DIY repairs performed by customers or third parties.

7. Website Use

When using our website, you agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or our systems
  • Transmit any viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Scrape, copy, or extract data from the Site without our written permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity or provide false information
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Site

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Site for any user who violates these Terms or engages in prohibited conduct.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DoorUp, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Your negligence or willful misconduct
  • Any dispute between you and a third party relating to our services

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or our services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Before filing a lawsuit, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may proceed with legal action.
